Proposal plan to increase Bosque Estatal de Ceiba by 16 acres of land in favor of the Department of Natural & Environmental Resources.Moncayo's golf course is planted with Seashore Platinum Paspalum, a drought- and salt-tolerant grass that is irrigated with brackish water. That same water naturally suppresses weeds and pests, reducing the need for herbicides and pesticides. Irrigation draws entirely from rainfall and stormwater, collected through an engineered system of swales, drains, and catch basins that feed into a series of interconnected lakes across the community. These lakes supply water to both the golf course and all common areas. Any minimal runoff is captured by in-ground drains on each hole and recycled back into the same system, keeping it away from mangroves, coastlines, and other sensitive ecosystems entirely.
